Lately I have been approached with the question of how to get others to see the light. Very often, while on a spiritual journey to Enlightenment we encounter “Neggy Nancy’s” and Naysayers, people who either want to steal our joy or prefer to drown in their own misery. It can be very disconcerting, especially when you are trying to keep yourself focused on your goals.

Happiness is not always easy for people to achieve, especially if they have struggled, suffered, or experienced a great deal of pain. Everyone lives in their own world and then we co-habitate on planet earth, so it is best to keep this in mind.

When dealing with others, go into the situation Knowing that your vision is not their vision and you may not be able to get them to see things through your eyes right away. That doesn’t mean give up, and it also doesn’t mean be forceful. Always remember, Balance in All Things!

The best way to get someone to believe something is to show them, let them experience it through your experience. When they see you making positive changes in your life, and living a joyful existence they will want to know how you do it! They may be bitter, jealous, or resentful at first, but fear not…they will either come around or you can choose to love them from a distance.

Just to touch on “Loving from a Distance” for a moment, I know it may seem like a difficult thing to do at first, but it can be very healthy. When one person is set on swimming in the dreary pit of depression and your assistance doesn’t seem to be helping, then you may need to take a step back so that your energy is not drained as well.

This does not mean that you can’t keep in touch; it just means limiting your interactions, especially when things become negative, it is best to allow space for you to focus on you and for them to realize that your positive impact on their life is really what they need.

Whenever you are provided with an opportunity, give positive reinforcement; suggest helpful website links, books, articles, etc. Sometimes people just need to be introduced to that thing that ignites the spark in them. We have all been through trials and tribulations, but as the famous quote says~ “It’s not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up!”

This is your brother and comrade Jah-I-Witness Emcee chiming in to recap my 11-11-11 experience, which happened to have been a truly amazing and inspiring day for me. As you all are aware, I had been anticipating this day for quite some time now, due to it being the release day of my 3rd solo, and new release, “E11EVEN” (which is now available for download here). What I had assumed that many were not aware of was the fact that 11-11-11, was the 33rd anniversary of my entry into this physical realm, more commonly referred to as my “birthday”. For so long I had been so deeply engulfed in the completion and marketing of “E11EVEN”, that it had totally slipped my mind that Novermber 11th, 2011, was not just my release date… It’s actually my bornday… Even though that was part of the projects concept…

November 11th, 2011 = 11/11/11 = 11 + 11 + 11 = 33 = to my physical degree (age)…

Imagine its November 10th and I’m in the middle of finalizing graphics, last minute micro tweaks, late night panic phone calls to Kinetic, phone in interviews with internet radio stations, and extreme lack of sleep… And I’m reminded by a “Happy Birthday”, Facebook post by a high school class mate that “Oh Shit!!! It is my bornday isn’t it?”…

Followed by a post from the lovely songstress Honey LaRochelle…

Followed by some of the most real, beautiful, and touching statements by some of my closest fam and bredren, as well as 250+ other wonderful folk, both old and new acquaintances!!! And now I’m sitting there like WOW!!! *cues Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” while hoisting lit lighter*

So before I proceed I must say GIVE THANKS AND PRAISES FOR EACH AND EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU WHO TOOK TIME TO WISH ME WELL ON MY BORNDAY!!! I I-PRECIATE THE LOVE TO THE FULLNESS!!! (I tried to say thanks to each of you one by one, but Wastebook didn’t like it…smh)

Well prior to all of this excitement, I had a great time interviewing with Carla B of EOTM Radio Networks, where we discussed “E11EVEN”, The Explore South Africa Tour, and the phenomena of the 11/11 consciousness gateway… Check out the interview right here… It was a blast!!!

All in all this was truly a very memorable day that definitely goes down as one of my most exciting celebrations of my birth anniversary post the in school parties organized by my mother. Also this is hands down the best bornday celebration I’ve had since my mother became an ancestor a few years ago. This was the first time in a long time that I wasn’t down about not getting my morning “Happy Birthday!!!” call from her, or my uncle’s “G-g-g-g-good night… ah-ah-ah-aHappy Birthday!!!” (he stuttered and we shared 11/11 as a bornday). Again thank you all for keeping me “distracted” yet focused on positive things… For that YOU ARE SO I-PRECIATED!!! ONE LOVE!!!

Before I say peace, I would like to acknowledge that this day, or any day, would not have been possible without the God and Goddess who brought me here…

Making the Most of Mercury Retrograde

Often when I mention Mercury Retrograde people tilt their head to the side and give me that look as though I have just painted a question mark across their face. Other people are well versed on this ’slowing down of Mercury’, which is referred to as Mercury Retrograde because it appears to go backward, similar to when you pass another car while driving and it appears to go in reverse.

This retrograde happens four times per year. The dates are: March 30th to April 23rd, in Aries; August 2nd to 26th in Virgo, then Leo; and November 23rd to December 13th in Sagittarius. As you can see we have one approaching in the next few days. In preparation for this period, there are ways to flow in alignment and not be deterred from your path by some of the mishaps that often take place during Mercury Retrograde.

Quick Overview Mercury Retrograde:

Building up:Nov. 5th – 24th — Mercury in Sagittarius
Retrograde begins:Nov. 24th – 20 degrees Sagittarius
Direct motion: Dec. 13th at 3+ degrees Sagittarius
New Cycle begins: Jan 1st, 2012 – Mercury 21 degrees Sagittarius

Since Mercury rules communication, it’s said that everything goes haywire in that area — emails get deleted or bounced back, mail is returned, calls go out into the ethers, etc. Some people find that their computers go on the fritz or phone lines go down. But Mercury Retrograde does not have to be viewed as a negative, it is more-so a period for reflection and journeying within to pay attention to your inner being.

Mercury retrograde gives us time to catch up with ourselves, and to look back. Something from the past might return in a different form. This can mean people, ideas or buried insights that need to surface for you to move forward. Often it’s felt as a contemplative time, depending on the sign, a chance to go over old ground again, to claim what you missed the first time.

There’s a long-held belief that it’s best to avoid making set plans during the Mercury Retrograde. This means being cautious about things like signing contracts, and forming partnerships and corporations. What gets put in writing at this time may turn out to need serious revising after Mercury goes direct. But since tying up loose ends is the domain of retrograde, this type of finalization might fly.

In our relationships, sometimes we gloss over things that pushed buttons at the time, but which we let slide. What seemed not worth the trouble may reveal itself as a major issue in need of our attention. The Mercury retrograde is a time for review, when the underlying patterns come to light.

Some dreams and goals get lost in the hectic rushing around of daily life. The Mercury Retrograde period can be a rich time of reflection on those longings. This makes it a time for the soul to ponder its destiny. You might look over old journals, review your creative work, muse on serendipities of the past that have pointed you toward your spirit’s calling. It can make the retrograde period a time of solidifying a sense of your personal story and where you’re headed.

The Mercury retrograde is shaped by the sign through which it is cast. For example, a Mercury retrograde in Cancer turns the mind toward things like family, home and the invisible emotional bonds that connect us. On the other hand, a Mercury retrograde in Aquarius gives it a different spin, with a review of group dynamics, the larger human community, all from a detached perspective.

“Re-Envisioning” the Bigger Picture of Your Life.“ All key themes will surround the astrological sign of Sagittarius during this retrograde, such as; expansion, integration, aspiration, vision quest, higher mind, belief systems, philosophy, international affairs and higher education.

In Sync With Synchronicity

While I’m feeling the Vibe of this 11-11-11 vibration just before the end of the day, I want to take a few moments to address synchronicity. Being able to notice the synchronicities of life as they unfold is a vital part of the manifestation process!

Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated or unlikely to occur together by chance and that are observed to occur together in a meaningful manner. The concept of synchronicity was first described in this terminology by Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychologist, in the 1920s.

The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead it maintains that, just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by meaning. A grouping of events by meaning need not have an explanation in terms of cause and effect.

That was a more “technical” explanation, but to break it down… Synchronicity is when you are thinking of someone and then the phone rings, and guess who?! It’s that very same person you were just thinking of on the other end of the line! Most people would call this a coincidence, but when we are speaking in terms of synchronicity, coincidences do not exist. Some people refer to them as “non-coincidences”.

A wonderful book to read to gain a better understanding of synchronicity is The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. This book, as well as the books that followed, greatly inspired me and opened my eyes to the fact that if you pay attention you can avoid situations and you can also be guided in the direction that is best suited for your goals and aspirations.

Life is a labyrinth, if you go the wrong way you may hit a dead end or even wind up right back where you started. Synchronicities exist to point you in the right direction. For instance, if you are an aspiring artist who wants to display their paintings in art galleries, you may be sitting in a coffee shop when someone bumps into your chair and a business card falls out of their coat pocket. When you pick it up you see that they are a curator of an art gallery, from this point two things can happen…either you ignore it, hand the person their card and go back to sipping your coffee, or you take notice of the synchronicity and you say “I noticed that you are an art curator and I have been looking for a gallery to display my paintings…”

Things like this happen all the time, the only thing you need to do is pay attention and Act when you notice that synchronicity is in effect!

11/11/11 Global Consciousness Meditation

On 11/11/11 at 11:11 am and 11:11 pm (and throughout the day) people all over the world will be tapping into the Global Consciousness Movement via Meditation! It is a beautiful time for change and conscious evolution, will you be a part of it? I hope your answer is yes!

If you are seeking a method to join in and are a bit unfamiliar with mediation and raising your energy vibration, I am here to share with you some guidance on preparation and meditation.

If you have ever practiced Yoga or are interested in beginning your practice, NOW is the time! Yoga is an excellent way to raise your energy vibration, while breathing and stretching the body. I recommend Kundalini Yoga because it works to awaken the Kundalini which rests at the base of your spine. When this Kundalini is awakened it moves through the body’s Chakras (energy centers) all the way to the Crown Chakra (top of your head) opening your Pineal Gland (Third Eye) to the Universal Energy. This is the energy that we want to tap into during this 11:11 portal!

Practicing yoga prior to your 11:11 meditation will raise your vibration and align you with the Universal energy. If possible, I also suggest playing the 528 hz “Love Vibration” into your tap water, drinking water, food, etc. This vibration is filled with healing and love, which is the state we want to be in while performing this meditation. The 528 hz Love Vibration is available on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0VA-WGH-WE (there are many to choose from).

In preparation for meditation it is best not to consume any heavy or acidic foods. If possible, eat alkaline foods and things that are as close to their natural source as possible, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. This will greatly assist in raising your vibration to its highest frequency.

When you are ready to meditate prepare your space so that it is comfortable and conducive to the amount of time you will be remaining still. If you can lay in a bathtub filled with water, a hot tub, or a pool that would be ideal because water is magical and it holds and transfers our thoughts, intentions and energy.

If a body of water is not available, then I suggest a sitting pillow on the floor, a comfortable chair, or even laying in bed (which works best for me). There is no right or wrong method for meditation, you just want to be as comfortable as possible so that your focus is not constantly drifting.

It is always nice to light candles, burn your favorite incense, and listen to some tranquil music. Guided meditations will be available online via youtube if you feel you prefer to be guided during your meditation.

While meditating, sit or lay still, eyes closed, with a smile on your face while imagining the most beautiful, happy, magical planet that you can envision. Throughout the meditation continue to add detail to your vision and see the others that are joining in your vision with you!

Allow yourself to fill with joy, excitement, and unconditional love. Picture these positive feelings enveloping the world and all of humanity.

Remember to breathe, and with every breath in repeat the word “Love” and with every breath out repeat the word “Peace”. You can vocalize these words, or you can see them with your mind’s eye. Either way is just as affective. Keep in mind to do what feels right to you!
