It is hard to describe how excited and honored I am to be a part of such a positive undertaking, and for it to be my first international tour, it is especially sweet and fitting that it will be in THE MOTHERLAND!!! I am also honored and humbled that YOU ALL found me worthy of going, that is SO HEAVY to me!!! There were so many talented artist, whose supporters represented them well, but YOU ALL represented the hardest and for that I am eternally grateful… I give thanks and praises to The Most High and The Ancestors for this opportunity, as well as for brothers and sisters like you all, who truly took action to show your support for positive hip hop music…THAT REAL SOUL MUSIC!!!

Jah-I-Witness Emcee will open for headliners AZitiZ from the US and Dj Duce from South Africa at the tour’s initial stops in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Pretoria. This initiative, presented by AZitiZ Entertainment and Headgear Media also aims to assist conscious hip hop artists, fans and brands to enter into the South African market with the hopes networking, sharing their love for the genre as well as learning the in and outs of the music business via the Global Hip Hop Industry Panel of Experts.

by writing a blog and or uploading a video explaining why conscious music is important, specifically in hip hop; and how it made them feel to be part of a movement that is being called, “the voice of the voiceless.” Contestants also shared how they planned to contribute to the movement, highlighting ways their participation would positively impact hip hop fans across the world.Fans cast more than 5,500 online votes during the course of the contest. Award winning publicist/radio personality Carla B. announced the winner October 16th on EOTM Radio (www.eotmradio.com).
Jah-I also received an ESAT promotional marketing package as well as airfare to South Africa, ground transportation and hotel accommodations. Competing alongside 13 other conscious music artists for a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on one of the most highly anticipated conscious music tours since the inception of hip hop.
Jah is an extraordinary artist that has created a colorful sound that truly stands out from the grayness of the music industry. With the mic as his brush and beats as his canvas, Jah-I dips into his life experiences, emotions, and soul to paint sonic masterpieces.

Born the son of musician/activist, Olamina of Awareness Art Ensemble (A.A.E.), a very influential force in introducing African culture and reggae music to the Mid-Atlantic region, Jah-I’s musical roots run long and deep.
In 2001, in the wake of the September 11th tragedy, Jah-I and a handful of live musicians formed the live hip hop unit called True Sound. True Sound captivated audiences with their funky blend of hip hop, ghetto rock, reggae and soul, which began to be described as “The True Sound Experience.” With Jah-I-Witness as the front man, True Sound blends the energy of a rock-n-roll show, with street savvy and politically charged lyrics, soulful vocals, and masterful musicianship. Alongside the brothers of True Sound, Jah-I has played many, notable venues in the mid-Atlantic region and has shared the stage with a number of nationally and internationally recognized acts and music legends; such as Busta Rhymes & The Flipmode Squad, The Wailers, Sugar Hill Gang, and Fishbone.
As a solo artist, Jah-I has created a colorful sound that truly stands out from the grayness of the music industry. With the mic as his brush and beats as his canvas, Jah-I dips into his life experiences, emotions, and soul to paint sonic masterpieces. One such masterpiece, Stranger, was unveiled in 2005. Stranger, an eclectic mix of politically conscious rhymes, love ballads, and odes to hip hop proved to be an excellent showcase of Jah-I’s singing, rhyming, and production abilities. Stranger effectively blurred the lines between music genres, while simultaneously embodying the spirit of hip hop music and culture.
Currently, Jah-I is busy promoting the release of his second solo effort The Struggle, The Love, The Glory (The SLG), which is a collection of new songs and collaborations with various artists and producers around the world. He is also actively working on the completion of an album for his new group, The Remnant Project, which is comprised of emcee/vocalist Range Da Messenga, lyrical mastermind Kinetic, and Philly-based producer St. Paul. Both releases should prove to be solid works of art and positive steps on the path of Jah-I’s musical journey.
